Re: I made a simple Tower demo!

That looks fantastic!... You said you're looking to optimize it more... are you planning to turn it into a game?

I remember there was a cpc game with a tower effect... but I can't remember the name!

Re: Conditions Calls

There isn't in 8086, If you want to do a 'conditional call', you should jump over the call statement when the condition is not true

For example if you want to call if Zero:

Code: Select all

    JNZ NoCall
        CALL CallIfZero
    NoCall:

Re: Video: Lesson P31 - Hardware Sprites on the Master System / Game Gear

Well, ok, I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one, If you're happy with your 37 word explanation then I'm happy you're happy, but I kind of took it as you were mocking me by saying that you could explain in 100 words what I've failed to do in 400 videos and a 270 page book. You'...

Bah! Ignore me, It can't even load my own file! There were a couple of bugs in it, I've fixed them now, please download the sources again, the fixed version is in there. Note: Please check the NeoGeo Section of the FileFormat tab for advanced options relating to sprite loading if things don't import...

Re: Lesson P25 - Hardware Sprites on the NeoGeo

Yes, NeoGeo Animation is pretty easy!... I didn't cover it in the tutorial, as I'd put too much time into writing that one already, it's on my 'ToDo' list to go back to it at some point and cover animation. Re AkuSprite Editor, I take it you're using the menu option 68000->NeoGeo->LoadSprite The opt...

"How to port any game to any system in the entire world in 10 words" Alter the game so it works on the new system Guess I can stop making tutorials now!... my work is done. oh, and your description doesn't match your original statement, you said you wanted to convert an existing game, not ...

Re: WinAPE needs EN-US keyboard setting

Good point - thanks for the suggestion... I'm an UK er living in JAPAN with a US keyboard, so I've kind of given up about keys being in the wrong places. I believe you can fix small issues by remapping keys in Winape - Setup... I think I had to do this to get access to the | bar symbol (Not sure, it...

Re: Video: Lesson P31 - Hardware Sprites on the Master System / Game Gear

Yes, I believe it's possible to port MSX1 games to the SMS in the way you describe, though it's not something I've ever done, or personally have any interest in as my preference is to avoid using firmware where possible and write my own code to access the hardware. The SMS has backwards compatibilit...

Re: Lesson P27 - Hardware Sprites on the Genesis / Megadrive

No, ChibiAkumas Ep1+2 are a finished project, and I have no intention of going back to them. They weren't popular enough to justify the time of porting to another system anyway (the game only sold a few dozen copies on CPC/MSX/SMS/ENT) I'll be making more games with the ChibiAkumas characters, which...
