Re: Just saying hi..

I'm a relative newbie to coding in general, but I've been drawn to it very recently due to my weird of trying to learn new stuff seemingly completely at random.

It's nice to see another pro here, to balance out an overenthusiastic hobbyist like me lol

Tech manual for the Osborne 1 portable computer.

I just stumbled on this during one of my regular dives into Archive.org https://archive.org/details/bitsavers_osborneosbeferenceGuide1981_27272857/page/n351 Some great documentation on a wonderfully unique and classic Z80 system. And one that made heavy use of bank switching to stretch out it's memo...

Yes, I am actually really excited to see you covering the Wonder Swan. That hand held was such an underrated gem.

The more people know about it, the more homebrew games I'm likely to see for it. :)

Some Tandy documentation I thought Keith might be interested in.

Keith mentioned a passing interest into looking at 8088 assembly, but said he never came across the Tandy 1000 series of home computers. I found a really nice hardware service manual for the Tandy 1000, if he wanted to play around with it for a Hardware Specific 8088 assembly tutorial in the distant...

Re: Hello from the USA!

I'm legit shocked that I'm one of the few Americans here tbh. But hey, someone's gotta be the first. Might as well be me!

Where abouts do you hail Gee-k?

Re: Making a crude physics engine in a generic 6502 machine.

It's intended to be more of a teaching tool than a serious assembler, if you're wondering why I don't really use equates or plus and minus offsets that you would usually see assemblers being able to do. Oh and also I have more than a couple projects going on with that virtual machine. Would you pref...

Making a crude physics engine in a generic 6502 machine.

I gotta say, its super fun trying something and failing again and again until that one magical moment when the code is finally lines up in a way that makes what you're trying to do actually kinda work. Having that happen to me a few times while learning 6502 in the last couple months, I can totally ...

Re: Hello from the USA!

When I was learning programming way back in high school, one thing that always kinda frustrated me was how no one teaching me the high level languages could 100% explain to me how the software programs interacted with the computer. Like, truly interacted. As in, where did the software end and the ha...

Re: Buying a Commodore 64 help!

It depends on what your doing. Thankfully the C64 has a monitor and assembler built right into it. On the command prompt, type without quotes "MON" to tell the machine that you want to start making an Assembly program. The format is a tiny bit different than anything you would type in say ...

Hello from the USA!

Hello Hello, Everyone! Nice to meet you all! I've gotten into coding fairly recently in earnest, but I've always been on the fringes on it all my life. I'm a little too young to remember it clearly, but my first home computer was my dad's old Vic-20. It was eventually replaced when I was 6 with a br...
